20 in 20: June Birthday Bash Giveaway, Day 10

Woohoo! We’ve made it to the halfway point! Thanks to Kimi for suggesting I use “deep blue shadows” yesterday via twitter. I wasn’t able to include her suggestion in yesterday’s painting, but the idea stuck with me and provided the basis for today’s painting.

This was a total experiment, and there were several “i’m not so sure about this” moments, but I think it came together quite nicely.

  1. again – i love the lighter gouache on top of the dark… something really really interesting about it. Hoping this week is my lucky week cause I would love one of these… had my heart set on cirquare and got crushed lol

  2. I’m so thrilled to have played a small part in this beautiful piece! The bright colors are offset so nicely by the deep blue shadows. It feels calm yet lively at the same time. Lovely!

  3. Your geometric-type patterns are just killer! Aren’t those “I’m not so sure about this” moments fun and aggravating all at the same time? I have them with almost every single piece I do, until I’m about 3/4 of the way through, then I’m like, “Oh, yea, this is nice!”

  4. this one is awsome too! reminds of a mermaid’s tail, or at least what i’d imagine a mermaid’s tail to look like … i’d love to be a mermaid ahhh <3

  5. I agree with whoever said it would make amazing fabric….I’d love a dress made out of fabric with this pattern on! 🙂
